Notes: | A very nice and attractive single panel Ulos Sadum with intricate supplementary warp and supplementary weft design elements. The center panel is in dark blue with multiple rows of arrow heads; the side panels in dark maroon. There are five intricate supplementary weft cross bands in red, white and yellow with incorporated complex bead work (red, white and green beads). The supplementary weft reflects both male and female symbolism. A narrow ikat selvedge in red and yellow binds the tightly wrapped warp fringes. Unusually, the weaver has also incorporated four small flowers in white, red, yellow and green to reflect the coloured yarns used. The cloth is distinguished by its large amount of very attractive incorporated bead work. |
